[This is a really silly dream.

It has to be a dream, or so Nepeta convinces herself. Her room in the castle, once lined with walls covered in ~~blood~~ paintings and drawings and charts of shipping, now resembles something of a jungle. She's sitting up on a bed of spotbeast fur that's oh so warm and also incredibly comfortable. Looking up reveals dangling vines and--are those featherbeast chirps she's hearing?

This is very much a dream. What only confirms this is the fact that she's not alone in the bed. Lying beside her is Vriska, sound asleep and oblivious to the sudden jungle they've found themselves in. She looks so peaceful, and almost--almost--innocent... Nepeta isn't sure she has the heart to wake her up. Even if this is just a dream. Which is odd, because she's never had a dream in which someone was asleep during it.

But it's a pretty boring dream without someone to interact with, so she shakes Vriska's shoulder to wake her from her slumber. Here's hoping that dream!Vriska is a lot nicer about being abruptly woken than the real Vriska.]

Do you have a better explanation for why this bed is in the middle of a jungle?

Oh, I don't know... The castle maybe?!

[Now she's even dreaming about the castle!

[And there she goes! Off the bed and falling to a heap on the jungle floor with a thump. Oof! That smarted.]

I guess it is the castle, then. But why?

[Vriska is the brains of this outfit; let her think.]

Might have something to do with that shitty human holiday?

[Christmas already passed, and so did Halloween. It's too early for the egg holiday.]

You mean the one about love and quadrants?

Humans only have one relationship quadrant!

I know, right? How do they do that? What about the other three quadrants? [Getting distracted from the situation here.]

They like things simple, I guess!

[She starts to climb atop the bed again. Not that there's anything wrong with the rock hard ground, it's just much nicer on the soft bed.]

I don't see how the human romance holiday has anything to do with jungles. Or why we are both here.

I don't want to know!

[Now sitting at the foot of the bed, she takes another opportunity to glance at their surroundings. It was pretty nice, actually! This was familiar(ish) territory for Nepeta, although it was more closed in and not as noisy as the wilds she was more accustomed to hunting in.

In fact, it seems rather calm. Almost relaxing. And with the bed nearby, two people could very easily kick back and enjoy themselves.

You don't really think it put us together to celebrate it, do you? I mean, that would mean the castle shipped us or something!

[It takes all of Vriska's strength to not push Nepeta off the bed a second time. In lieu of her kneejerk reaction, she instead gently jerks her knees up to her chest and holds them as she sits there, casually.]

What? That's fucking crazy! And why a jungle? That sure is random!

It was probably either this or a pirate ship, and maybe the castle just didn't want to deal with all that water.

Lame!

[She puts her hands up and shrugs.]

I'm just guessing! I don't even know what it expects from us at this point.

[BLUH.]

I don't know... what do you feel like doing?

[She looks down, hands running along the fur covers.]

I feel like hunting, but I doubt there are any actual beasts in here. I could see walls of the room now, so it's not all that big.

[She'll lean against the headboard. Head = bored.]

Tch, yeah I was going to say. All you could really hunt in here are some missing socks!

[And Nepeta flops onto the fur, now rubbing her cheek against it. So soft!]

What do humans do on this holiday again? Maybe if we do that, it will let us go?

Hey, there are a lot of human holidays, you know! I can't be expected to remember them all. I've had a rough week!

[Regardless, she rolls over, looking to the other side of the room.]

We'll probably have to wish for the candy, because I don't see any.

[Nope, Nepeta. NOPE.]

What kind of rough week?

[She pulls herself over the ledge of the bed, dangling upside down. Just as she thought: no candy under the bed, either.]

Just the same BS that the castle always does eventually.
