beeping | (no subject)

[This is a really silly dream.

It has to be a dream, or so Nepeta convinces herself. Her room in the castle, once lined with walls covered in ~~blood~~ paintings and drawings and charts of shipping, now resembles something of a jungle. She's sitting up on a bed of spotbeast fur that's oh so warm and also incredibly comfortable. Looking up reveals dangling vines and--are those featherbeast chirps she's hearing?

This is very much a dream. What only confirms this is the fact that she's not alone in the bed. Lying beside her is Vriska, sound asleep and oblivious to the sudden jungle they've found themselves in. She looks so peaceful, and almost--almost--innocent... Nepeta isn't sure she has the heart to wake her up. Even if this is just a dream. Which is odd, because she's never had a dream in which someone was asleep during it.

But it's a pretty boring dream without someone to interact with, so she shakes Vriska's shoulder to wake her from her slumber. Here's hoping that dream!Vriska is a lot nicer about being abruptly woken than the real Vriska.]

[She curls her fists on the bedding and sighs.]

It's just hard remembering how to deal with it again. For him especially.

[Oh fuck how does she even empathize here what is going on stop being sad in front of her.]

I get it. Moirails are kind of a big deal...

[Nepeta nods. In truth, she wasn't going to bring it up. It had happened days ago, and since then she'd done her best to push her feelings about it down and away. She'd had her cry, but she wasn't a wiggler anymore; it was time to make sure the tough stuff didn't keep her down. It was her own fault for forgetting how quickly it could all end, even if she herself didn't seem to be going anywhere.]

Yeah, but--it's okay. I mean, it's not, but it's not like being sad or mad will make him come back. I'll manage; I did before. You helped.

[Tch.] Whatever. I just know while you're living here you're not about to die without having your quadrants filled. Literally.

[She knows all about losing quadrants, though...]

[She's right. While it might make it a little easier, they've both proven that they don't necessarily need to fill their quadrants in order to survive. They might even be stronger for it.

And also the fact that no one's about to kill her for not having a quadrant filled is nice, too.]

[She knows humans CAN do it!]

[She sways at the nudge and giggles lightly, and then draws in a long, deep breath.]

Yeah. I will.

[STOP.]

Ew, don't cry!

I'm not gonna cry! See?

[She points to her eyes, which are wide and a little glossy but there are no tears to be found!]

Here, she's pushing you again!]

[This time she's not taking that push lying down! Well, she kind of is. But now she's retaliating!! She gives Vriska a shove that might just knock her over if she isn't balanced.]

[Vriska jerks to the side a lot more than she would have liked to, but luckily she manages to catch herself. WHAT WAS THAT FOR. What reason would Nepeta even have for pushing her, a Vriska? That's right, no reason. None whatsoever.]

HEY!

[Oh, was that too hard a push?]

Hey you!

You're dumb!

[Nepeta just laughs and brushes it off. They're having fun, right?]

Ugh!! I didn't even do anything!

[She smiles, and then looks away. And then--oh yeah. Still in a jungle.]
